Nailsea is home to basketball success

On Wednesday 11th October Nailsea Basketball played host to Totterdown for their first meeting in the West of England Basketball League. Music was pumping out loud as fans arrived and players warmed up in Nailsea School Sports Hall ready for the game ahead.

Nailsea played in blue and came out with a starting five of Jason Boulton, Jon Moore, Nick Oldfield, Brian Gleeson and Jake Watkins. Two long range 3-pointers from Boulton and Oldfield opened up the game setting a tempo that would remain throughout. Totterdown responded by driving inside to draw fouls and get to the freethrow line for some easy baskets. But it was Nailsea’s Jon Moore who ended the first quarter in style with a devastating two handed slam dunk, igniting huge cheers from the crowd and pulling Nailsea to within one point of Totterdown, 14 - 15.
