I’m back, and I missed you….
December 5, 2006 on 5:10 pm | In GeneralIt’s been more than a week since I last wrote anything here, but I’m just about recovered from my long weekend in Amsterdam now, so here goes part two of the Nailsea Basketblog.
First off, congratulations to the Orlando Magic, who are now 4-1 on their longest road trip of the season, and still hold the best record in the Eastern Conference. Dwight and Jameer are the future! To anyone who doesn’t pay attention to the NBA, please take a look at www.nba.com. It may not be the most fundamentally sound basketball (hark at me being the critic!) but it is very entertaining, and the pure athleticism of some of the players is incredible. In case you couldn’t tell, i’m quite a fan…
Nailsea news: Paul Roy is the bionic man! One week in a cast is all it takes for our resident superhero to return from a broken wrist. It was also great to see big Jon back in the hallowed Nailsea School building, even though he had to stay off the court. It warms my cynical heart to see such displays of commitment (or maybe it’s just boredom?). I know I’d still come to the practises if I was broken, as long as I could get there. I need a basketball fix on a regular basis!
Which brings me back round nicely to my recent excursion to rain soaked Holland. A sad side effect of the trip was the realisation of how much I use the internet to keep in touch with the various basketball goings-on. I was only away for four days, and yet I managed to feel totally out of the loop as far as what was going on. Of course it’s not as if our Dutch brothers and sisters don’t have the internet, it’s just that I’m too tight to spend any money on it these days! Still, I was glad to get back and check in on the Nailsea site, it’s like my online home.
Go Nailsea!
