Nailsea Win Play-off Finals to Become 2007 Champions!

March 29, 2007 on 7:48 am | In General

In a thrilling final play-off game of the 2007 season, Nailsea secured a hard fought victory against a strong UWE team. The game seemed like a very apt ending to the year, with UWE being close rivals of Nailsea for the regular season, and finishing in second place in the league standings. UWE advanced past Speedwell in the first round of the play-offs, bringing them to the Nailsea home court for the final.

A very slow first quarter saw only a 9 - 3 lead to Nailsea, with defense being strong, but offense somewhat lacking in intensity. UWE took control in the second quarter and went into the half time break with a 25 - 22 lead. At one point, Nailsea were 10 points down, but the team dug deep to claw back to a more convincing second half and a final 65 - 53 score! Captain Jason Boulton received MVP honours for the game.

Once again, the Nailsea crowd was fantastic, so a big thanks to all the supporters throughout the season! Coach’s Corner now up!
