Season End Commentary from the League

So the season has now finished, with all matches played, and league and cup champions decided. There was a long email from the league runners about the year, but I’ve cut out the relevant section for Nailsea below for your enjoyment:

“Division 3 was dominated by the newly formed Nailsea. Ably led by Jason Boulton, who made the most of his ENL experience with Dave Roper at Bath, they dropped one game only when they visited Totterdown. Apart from that Filton 2 ran them close at home and away while Phantoms threatened in the game at Nailsea. The second spot was a contest between Phantoms and another newly formed team, Speedwell. As the season went on, Phantoms play improved while Speedwell suffered when Chris Risdale picked up an injury. Consequently Phantoms finished as runners-up. Filton 2 made up the fourth team in the top half Play-offs, narrowly pushing Totterdown into fifth place because of points difference in the two games between them. Filton 2 improved as the season went on and deserved their game at Nailsea. Having pushed Nailsea in the two league encounters, would there be another upset as in Division1? Well, not this time, and in the Play-off final, Nailsea went on to defeat Phantoms again and so were doubly Division 3 Champions.”
