As per the thread title.

The summer league is great, everyone always really enjoys it. It's at the Filton WISE campus, and is terrific value for money. It also lets you keep your eye in over the summer, which is nice.

Everyone is welcome, whether they've been playing in team games this year or not. If you're a Nailsea player, we'd love to have you.

We need to know whether we're fielding a team this year or not, so please post below if you would like to play. We have the option of playing on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday night, please state your order of preference. In theory each night is equal in terms of standard. In practice, we probably want to be on Monday or Thursday, as Tuesday is usually harder.

I'll start us off:

I'm not going to be able to play this year.

just because of a baby!

for me:
If monday = yes,
If Tuesday = No this will be mental hard
if Thursday = Possible (variable attendance)

I have found commitment to Summer league difficult in the past, If we are carrying on with Wednesday training then that would be enough for me.

Chaps

I don't think I will do summer league this year. Like Paul, I am personally keener to train on a Wednesday and Thursday will be my only non-sport weekday and I'll struggle.

I may review the situation if the Wednesday training fails to come off or if we get closer to it and the prospect of not playing for so long makes me sad but as the situation stands I have to say I'm out.

Sorry - I'd still recommend it to anyone who wants some full-on court time.

I make that six players for the Monday option so far. Which is not enough, obviously.

Come on everyone else, where are you?

Hi guys - sorry for being slow to respond. My preference would be to opt for training to be continued and I would be unable to commit to both.

Rather than mess around I will say that I am out for the time being.

Just to add to the complication:
Winterbourne are putting in a hybrid team (called Summerbourne. (see what we've done there?)) and opting to play on the Thurdsay which should be an easier night than the Tuesday where we played previously.
It's open to all and I've had some vague expressions of interest from some of you and a firm committment from one.

The reason that Nailsea split a few years back was to be able to cater for those who wanted to play all-out to win and also for those who just wanted to play for the fun of it without that extra pressure. Summerbourne will be playing for fun so, if you want to get involved, you'll not find yourself warming the bench just so that we can secure a win.

Our training is moving to The Park in Knowle for April. 7.00 - 8.00pm. We'll be training towards the summer league but in a gentle way. Anyone who wants to get involved is very welcome. We'll take a couple of quid off you for the court hire but nothing more. If you can't stand us after two weeks then you can melt away. If you like it then you can come along for the summer league.

Please note that we're not trying to poach Naisea players here. You can sign up for more than one team for the Summer Leagus so, even if Nailsea and Summerbourne are playing on the same night, you can just pick which team you want to play for on that night.

Sorry, we're all booked up now. We have 14 players and are wondering how we're going to run that with only 12 allowed in any game.
