Dear WEBBA Community,
In what continue to be extraordinary times for our local and global communities, we very much hope that this update finds each of you safe and well.
The WEBBA Committee continues to hold regular online meetings as we plan for the 20/21 season ahead, balancing our enthusiastic commitment to basketball with the need to protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our members and their families whilst adhering the continuing COVID-19 lockdown restrictions.
Basketball England have published their COVID-19 Return To Play guidance, providing a "phased, flexible way forward for the sport based on an agile response to the developing government advice". Many answers to questions about how we responsibly navigate the coming months can be found there, although there are no dates for return to play set at time of writing. I encourage the community to familiarise themselves with the guidance if they have not already done so here https://www.basketballengland.co.uk/new ... y-guidance
Updates will be forthcoming as the picture becomes clearer over the next few weeks, and we continue to invite you to register team interest for the coming season with the respective women and mens' secretaries.
Further, I want to take this opportunity to state that WEBBA is committed to anti-racism, to diversity and inclusion, and deeply values its BME members. We stand with the BLM ideal and the protests across the world in response to the brutal murder by police of George Floyd and centuries of systemic racism.
Black Lives Matter.
