Nailsea Lose Hard Fought Game vs A&S Police, 43 - 49

November 10, 2007 on 11:11 am | In General

Nailsea played in a hard fought game against the strong A&S Police team this week, at home at Scotch Horn Leisure Centre. The game ended with a 43 - 49 score line.

While the Nailsea defense looked strong throughout large portions of the game, shots seemed not to be falling, and the team struggled to score at the offensive end. Game scoring was lead by Jason Boulton with 12 points, while MVP honours went to Angus Roach (quite possibly linked to his amazing end of half tip in slam!!)

UWE Forfeit Game vs. Nailsea and Pull Out of League

October 26, 2007 on 8:57 am | In General

For those who came on Wednesday to Scoth Horn they will have sadly witnessed the non-arrival of the UWE team, due to face Nailsea in their first clash of the season. Unfortunately UWE have pulled out of WEBBA this year due to lack of players and so the match was cancelled this week, and the follow up in March will also be removed from the fixtures list. Since UWE have pulled out of the league, no points were awarded to Nailsea for this forefeit.

Obviously everyone was disappointed that there was no game, players and fans alike. Thanks to the supporters who did turn up, hopefully next time the game will happen as scheduled! Nailsea play their next game on Friday 2nd Nov away at Filton, and their next home game is the following week on Wed 7th Nov vs A&S Police.

Nailsea Narrowly Lose To Newport In Close Fought Home Game, 64 - 66

October 11, 2007 on 11:15 am | In General

Nailsea played their third match of the season last night, at home against Newport. The Nailsea team came out to a slow start , and ended the first quarter down 11 points, at 11 - 22. Nailsea showed their strong desire to win, clawing the score back from a one-time 14 point defecit to actually take the lead at one point. However, the game ended very closely, going right to the wire, and ending 64 - 66.

Nailsea’s scoring was lead by game MVP, Angus Roach, with 13 points. Dan Roach also clocked up 12 and Nick Oldfield scored 11. An extra big thanks to Marcus Driver for sacrificing his spot on the court to help out with the table last night! As usual, the crowd were fantastic, and I hope the enjoyed one of the closest games we have played to date.

September 27, 2007 on 6:16 pm | In General

Nailsea begun the 2007-08 season in style with a convincing victory over their first Division 2 rivals of the year. The Nailsea team came out to a fast and strong start, and maintained an aggressive pace and pressure throughout most of the game. The final score ended 92 - 66, with Nick Oldfield picking up MVP honours.

The scoring was lead by Angus Roach with 20, Jason Boulton with 16; and backed by excellent performances from Jake Watkins (12) and Jon Moore (10). The game saw many fast break opportunities for the Nailsea team, who have trained hard throughout the off-season. New team members Gus, Nick and Steve deserve a mention for their integration into the team so early on.
